Endlings

Personal Project

This watercolor and ink painting brings together a group of animals called endlings. They are all the last of their kind. (except for that tiny rabbit. Her name is Bryn and she is a pygmy rabbit from the Columbia basin. After I completed this painting they discovered a new population.) You may recognise Martha the last passenger pigeon. Or perhaps Incas and Lady Jane, the last Carolina parakeets, Benjamin the thylacene, and Celia the Pyrenean ibex. The other two are the quagga and the bubal hartebeest.
